There is something about us as humans that sees things other people have and instinctively wants them.

Whether it is with possessions or talents, I see this all the time.

Jealousy

We usually want what we feel like we are lacking.
We want to be better at something that we feel we are mediocre at.

However, when you look at the large scheme of things, there are always things we do not consider.

Perhaps that person with the talent you are jealous of struggled in school when you did not.
Perhaps that person with the talent you are jealous of has physical flaws that they  cannot get over.
Perhaps that person with the talent you are jealous of is in a financial crisis and you are not.

Perhaps that person with the possessions you desire struggles with depression.
Perhaps that person with the possessions you desire feels inadequate with their own abilities.

The truth is, you do not want their life. You want part of their life. You want the part that looks the best, but not the rest.
So ridiculous if you truly think about it.

Let’s just stop with the jealousy and discontentment.

Stop lamenting about what we do not have.
Just be thankful and give God what you do have.
