I was one of those moms that shamelessly dressed my boys in coordinating Halloween costumes.

Woody and Buzz Lightyear
Ninja Turtles
Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato
Sully and Mike Wazowski…

The year they were Veggie Tales, I was getting them both ready to go.
My little Larry the Cucumber was happy as ever.
My little Bob the Tomato was not

I think he was still crying as we walked the streets with all the other kids.

He ate the candy.

I have pictures of his tear-streaked face sitting next to his little plastic pumpkin eating his candy, looking slightly annoyed by it all.

To all the moms out there getting their little Bob the Tomatoes ready for a night of “fun,”
Good luck.
Hang in there.

And remember to put their bowl of candy on top of the refrigerator so you can steal all the good candy over the next few weeks…

Because let’s be real. We all do that.

  1. I’m glad I’m not the only mom out there that plans to ‘steal’ the good candy from trick or treating! (But again my little ones are too young for all of it) I plan to leave the suckers and gummy candy for my daughter but I plan to take the chocolate haha. But at 2 I’m not ready for her to learn the hyped up goodness of chocolate!
